Just bought a 1974 2002, and mostly stock but with a Weber carb and a 5 speed, but nothing major done under the hood. Curious about the Michelin XDX or the XAS, vs the CN36. Any help and info with the pro's and con's of each, what's the real difference between each of them etc. Also, I'm looking to keep it as stock and stock looking as possible.

I have a tire question. What do you think would be the tallest and maybe widest tire i could put on stock 15" 1963 beetle rims. Car is stock height. I just want to maybe get more miles per hour on the hgihway with a taller wheel right now i have 165 80 r 15 as the tire size thanks

I like your video. Would you like to comment on internal differences between tube-type and tubeless tires? Vintage tubeless tires will be smooth on the inside to be "friendly" with an inner tube. Tubeless tires most often have a lot of molding flash inside which can be harsh when in contact with an inner tube. A cheap ot thin inner tube will often crack and leak due to the molding flash in a tubeless tire. People recommend thick or heavy brand name tubes to cope with this situation. Do you think a good inner tube is sufficient to use in a tubeless tire on a wire wheel? Or would you recommend grinding the inside of a tubeless tire to remove molding flash if using a tube? Or would you recommend only using "tube type" tire on a wire wheel? Tube type tires have become very difficult to find in North America. I need 165-80-15 radial tires for my vintage MG MGA, and the modern supply in that size is almost always tubeless type tires with molding flash inside.

I was 11 (maybe 12) playing in my little, city park when I first saw a gold Lamborghini Mira. It was wearing these tires. I was gobsmacked. The owner was most gracious and took me for a very short ride. I will forever think that these are the only, proper tires for a sports car. If they would just make them in say a 15" that would fit under my NB Miata fenders, I would have them. Or, if I could afford a Dino. ;)

My 1953 Morris minor MM has been stood for 25 yrs so I need new tyres. If I order 155/80/14 for home drive start, will they know it's inner tubes and bring them? (I'm in Rotherham so recommendations appreciated)

They were awful tires not worthy of being classified as a performance tire (even back in the late 70s). Poor traction in the dry and truly terrible in the wet, quick wearing and expensive. I used them on a 1982 Mustang GT, I drove that car for about 10 years and went through 5 sets of summer TRX and 2 sets of winter TRX.
